One of the key objectives of the ICBD is the promotion of junior scientists and the fostering of state-of-the-art research. For this purpose we established the Young Investigators Award this year. The Executive Committee of the ICBD has committed to hand out 6 Young Investigator Awards of EUR 500.- for outstanding research by young scientists. The nominee must be first author (i.e. presenting author) on an abstract submitted for spoken presentation and should not be more than four years post-doctoral and not a Principal Investigator (P.I.). Candidates for this award must be less than 35 years at the start of ICBD 2018 (September 12, 2018) We encourage Young scientists to enter this prestigious competition for scientific excellence, where outstanding scientific work can be presented at the congress. A jury consisting of the Scientific Committee grants the awards based the oral poster presentation and the quality of the e-poster. The best scored performances will be awarded € 500,00 cheque. The winners of the awards will be announced during the closing remarks of the President on Saturday September 15th .
